A multilingual computer and applications programmer that started out by studying meteorology at Rutgers, The State University in New Jersey. Early exposure to BASIC, Pascal and Unix has led to learning many open source and commercial flavored languages and their application to science problems involving big data, ocean modeling and autonomous underwater vehicles to home hobbies such as automation of a renewable power system and greenhouse watering system.
Current activities include expanding capabilities and products made possible from a Kongsberg EK80 echo sounder mounted on Slocum gliders in operation by the University of Alaska Fairbanks and University of South Florida and other fixed and mobile platforms by the University of Washington.
